Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Project Manager in the Facilities Services, Planning and Construction Department to oversee multiple construction, repair, and renovation projects of moderate complexity. Under the Director of Construction Services, you will coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and state agencies to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of related professional work experience; OR Master’s degree and two (2) years of related professional work experience.
• Related experience coordinating multiple trades and engineering specialties on project management teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects involving departments, architectural/engineering firms, contractors, vendors and state agencies
• Manage the consultant selection process and contract negotiations, provide documentation for contracts, and manage the out-sourced architectural and engineering consultants
• Interpret and develop contractual language regarding scope of work and formalized policies, guidelines, rules and regulations
• Prioritize and manage multiple complex commercial design projects
• Work with project constituents to develop scope of work
• Conduct project meetings and project site visits
• Ensure contract compliance
• Interpret and enforce building codes and standards
• Provide input on project management software program
• Participate in the development of strategic project planning; and
• Other duties as assigned
