Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation is seeking an Associate Project Manager to oversee and coordinate the condition, maintenance, and improvement of Roadway Repair and Maintenance facilities across all five boroughs. You will act as the key liaison between RRM and DOT Facilities, prioritizing projects and communicating progress to leadership.

The role requires strong organizational and field coordination skills, along with the ability to provide executive-level updates.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time satisfactory experience supervising employees performing project management work on large projects.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, construction, or public administration, plus one year of related project management experience.
• Alternatively, a high school diploma and five years of related experience as described above, or a combination to equal five years.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the operational condition of 25+ RRM facilities across the five boroughs.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess facility conditions, safety concerns, and operational needs.
• Meet with facility managers and supervisory staff to identify maintenance issues and improvements.
• Maintain records of facility conditions, inspections, and issues.
• Track multiple projects ensuring timelines and priorities align with needs.
• Assist in identifying short-term repairs and capital improvements.
• Serve as primary contact between RRM and DOT Facilities for matters.
• Prepare executive summaries and briefings for leadership.
