Job summary

The Huntington seeks an experienced Facilities Project Manager to oversee large repairs, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades across an active campus. You will coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and internal departments to deliver projects on time and within budget.

With a minimum of five years in facilities project delivery, you will manage schedules, budgets, and compliance while maintaining minimal disruption to operations and ensuring safety and quality across all projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing facilities-related projects.
  • Experience coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors/contractors.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project scopes and objectives with stakeholders.
  • Manage a portfolio of facilities projects including repairs and renovations.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and track expenditures.
  • Develop schedules and ensure timely delivery with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and vendors throughout all phases.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including scopes of work and contract administration.
  • Ensure projects comply with codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Identify, assess and manage project risks and impacts.
  • Review plans and technical documents to support execution.
  • Coordinate activities in occupied environments with sensitivity to staff and visitors.
  • Prepare, maintain and report project documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement of facilities project delivery processes.
  • May perform other project-related duties as assigned.

About the Role

Working under minimal supervision, the Facilities Project Manager provides project management services for facilities‑related projects supporting operational needs across the institution. This role focuses on the coordination and delivery of large repair projects, small to mid‑size renovations, and major technical or infrastructure upgrades.

Essential Duties
  • Develop project scopes and objectives in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with operational needs and technical feasibility.
  • Manage a portfolio of facilities projects, including large repairs, renovations, and system upgrades.
  • Develop and manage project budgets; track expenditures to ensure alignment with approved funding and scope.
  • Develop project schedules and ensure timely delivery with minimal disruption to campus operations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and vendors throughout all phases of projects.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including scopes of work, bid coordination, and contract administration.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable codes, regulations, and institutional standards.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and operational impacts.
  • Review plans, specifications, and technical documents to support project execution.
  • Coordinate project activities in active, occupied environments with sensitivity to visitors, staff, and collections.
  • Prepare, maintain, and administer project documentation and reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement of facilities project delivery processes.
  • May perform other project‑related and departmental duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements and Experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive and solutions‑oriented approach.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing facilities‑related projects, including repairs, renovations, and building systems upgrades.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects in operational or occupied environments.
  • Experience coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors/contractors.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Understanding of project risks and ability to proactively address issues.
  • Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving skills and sound professional judgment.
  • Strong customer service orientation with emphasis on collaboration and responsiveness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), project scheduling tools (MS Project or similar), plan review tools (e.g., Bluebeam); familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
Working Conditions

The Huntington campus is extensive and diverse; this role requires working across indoor and outdoor environments, including regular site walks, coordination in active construction/repair areas, and interaction with staff and visitors.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $75,000.00–$80,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience.
