Job summary

Tesla Laboratories is seeking an experienced Facilities Project Engineer to support NOAA/NWS operations across Hawaii and other remote regions. The role leads planning, design, construction support, and lifecycle management for mission-critical weather infrastructure.

The selected engineer will oversee multi-discipline engineering activities, develop SOWs and IGCEs, and ensure safety, security, and environmental compliance across facilities in the Pacific and Alaska Regions.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading facility modernization projects for complex infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of MEP, HVAC, electrical distribution, and life-safety systems.
  • Ability to develop SOWs, IGCEs, and support procurement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering planning and design for facility modernization projects.
  • Develop Statements of Work (SOWs) for construction and facility projects.
  • Prepare Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
  • Monitor contractor performance during construction.
  • Review change orders and provide engineering recommendations.
  • Develop preventive maintenance strategies and facility condition assessments.
