Job summary

Pitt County Government seeks a skilled technician to assist in the design and oversight of small county building projects. The role involves reviewing plans, estimating costs, and monitoring construction to ensure compliance with standards.

Under limited supervision, duties include assisting the Director of Building Services, preparing budgets, and engaging with contractors and government agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and 5 years of experience in building construction, facilities management, public works or engineering work.
• Experience with drafting, cost estimating and project oversight is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides estimates for small scale construction projects.
• Provides CAD generated drawings for County projects.
• Performs preliminary building inspections.
• Maintains current building floor plans and facility drawings.
• Monitors construction in progress.
• Assists in preparation of RFPs and contracts and receives bids.
• Performs technical consulting including cost estimates and budgets for county departments.
