Pitt County Government seeks a skilled technician to assist in the design and oversight of small county building projects. The role involves reviewing plans, estimating costs, and monitoring construction to ensure compliance with standards.
Under limited supervision, duties include assisting the Director of Building Services, preparing budgets, and engaging with contractors and government agencies as needed.
Under limited supervision, specialized skilled technical work related to small project design, drafting, Level 1 building inspections and construction monitoring. Work involves assisting in the design of smaller county buildings and projects, overseeing the construction of county projects designed by others, reviewing construction plans and specifications, estimating construction project costs and assisting in enforcement of construction standards for private development. Employee is responsible for assisting the Director of Building Services in administrative functions including budget preparation. Reports to the Director of Building Services.
Associates degree and 5 years of experience in building construction, facilities management, public works or engineering work; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
