SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory seeks a highly skilled Facilities Process Piping Engineer to lead analysis, review, and modification of critical piping and chemical delivery systems. You will act as SME across the project lifecycle, from conceptual design to daily operation and maintenance, ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

The role involves reviewing P&IDs, coordinating shutdowns, and driving improvements in energy, water efficiency, and automation within a broad campus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Strong background in process piping, plumbing and chemical delivery systems.
• Experience with design reviews, P&IDs, and equipment selection.

Responsabilités

• Serve as SME for facility process piping and chemical delivery systems.
• Lead troubleshooting and RCA for system failures and leaks.
• Develop SOPs and PM programs with Facilities Maintenance and Operations.
• Monitor system performance and conduct hydraulic analyses to set safe limits.
• Review design packages and P&IDs to ensure alignment with standards.
• Coordinate critical utility shutdowns and system tie-ins with minimal impact.
• Select replacement materials based on lifecycle, compatibility, and standardization.
• Drive energy efficiency, water conservation, and system automation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
