Job summary

Roche in Tucson, AZ seeks a Facilities Process Engineer to optimize mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, storage) and lead maintenance innovation. You will manage the Central Utility Plant, drive preventative maintenance, and deliver data-driven insights to improve uptime and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical or related). Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in preventative maintenance, preferably in biotech or regulated industries.
• 5+ years in operating/maintaining complex mechanical systems (e.g., central utility plant).
• Knowledge of HVAC, utilities, electrical systems and energy management.
• Experience with root cause analysis, maintenance management and reliability methods.
• Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and loss minimization.

Responsibilities

• Analyze HVAC, controls and electrical systems to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements for cost savings and higher throughput.
• Ensure CUP ammonia processes and training meet safety and environmental standards.
• Oversee vendor management to control costs and ensure service quality while minimizing downtime.
• Define critical spare parts to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Collect and interpret data, monitor KPIs, and generate data-driven improvement reports.
