Job summary

City of Alexandria is seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee a portfolio of city facilities, balancing day-to-day operations with long‑term planning and capital projects. You will supervise staff, coordinate with vendors, and ensure safety, compliance, and reliability across multiple buildings.

The role requires building systems knowledge, strong project management, and experience with CMMS tools. Collaboration with internal departments and external partners is essential for delivering on time

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management or building operations.
• Experience managing multiple facilities or portfolios.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems (Cityworks or similar).
• Knowledge of public procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Manages and oversees facility operations and maintenance across assigned buildings.
• Ensures compliance with codes, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates and monitors preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Tracks expenditures and supports financial planning across operational and project scopes.
• Supports and manages facility-related projects, including renovations and system upgrades.
• Coordinates with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensures facility readiness during emergencies and after-hours events.
