Job summary

Greenwich House in New York City is seeking a Part-Time Porter to maintain cleanliness, safety, and appearance of our facilities. You will support with cleaning, setup for events, and ongoing maintenance to keep the space welcoming for staff and visitors.

This role emphasizes reliability, basic facility duties, and customer-friendly service. You will report to the Director of Facilities, work 20 hours weekly, 11:00 AM–3:00 PM, and enjoy benefits including health coverage and retirement options

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities

Cleaning and maintenance: sweep, mop, vacuum, dust and sanitize restrooms and common areas.
Assist with set-up and tear-down for events.
Safety and security: monitor hazards, keep exits clear, report issues.
Customer service: assist employees and visitors with directions and inquiries.
Inventory management: track cleaning supplies and report needs.
Compliance: follow safety guidelines and training requirements.
