Job summary

Harvard Maintenance is seeking a Porter to maintain daily cleanliness and upkeep of public and operational spaces within our buildings. The role responds to Building Management requests and supports events, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for tenants and visitors.

Day shift 7am-3pm. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of porter experience, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Porter.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups at all professional levels.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, or kneel as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and other common areas.
• Respond to special Building Management requests and work orders.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust as needed to keep areas tidy.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Restock restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Wipe down doors, windows, and other high-touch surfaces.
• Assist with moving furniture, setting up meeting spaces, or supporting special events.
• Report maintenance or safety issues to management.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are kept in good condition.
• Follow all safety and cleaning protocols.
