SOME (So Others Might Eat) in Washington, DC is seeking a Porter to maintain and clean facilities, ensuring a comfortable and dignified home for residents. The role includes light maintenance, coordinating cleaning, and upkeeping grounds within the portfolio.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years janitorial experience, HS education or GED, and can work Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm. A valid driver’s license and vehicle are required, with mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• HS education or GED required.
• 2+ years of janitorial experience.
• Experience serving low-income populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow maintenance checklist to keep facilities safe and presentable.
• Clean all common areas, bathrooms, lounges, kitchens, and more.
• Maintain building exterior and grounds through regular cleaning.
• Coordinate daily trash collections and manage bulk/regular pick-up.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning and building supplies.
• Perform snow and ice removal from walkways.
• Input work orders into the system and run regular inspections.
