Job summary

Denver Public Schools in Denver, Colorado seeks an experienced leader to plan, coordinate, and direct the district's capital projects from identification to closeout. You will oversee facility planners, construction managers, and related staff to ensure projects meet scope, cost, and schedule.

The role partners with administrators and contractors to execute approved projects, support long-range capital planning, and align work with district policies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher required.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and dismantling inequities in our community.
  • Permanent Colorado residence required.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Manages staff performing facility assessments for existing and future capital projects/needs with scopes of work, cost estimates, and prioritization for capital reinvestment and new construction.
  • Oversees day-to-day operations for the team including directing, mentoring, training, grievance handling, performance evaluations, discipline and terminations for several professional and technical District staff.
  • Responsible for all qualified vendor architects, consultants and contractors performing work for the District for design, construction, and planning activities for the capital program, including the bond program.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining long-range capital plans and necessary expenditures.
  • Acts as liaison between the District, school site administrators, parents and staff, architects and contractors to ensure projects align with policies.
