Job summary

University of Colorado Denver is hiring a Pipe/Mechanical Trades I to support Facilities Management. The role focuses on routine and corrective maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, with coordination of journeylevel staff and contractors.

Onsite work supports a 24/7 campus environment. The position operates on a day first shift (Sun-Thu 7:30 AM–4:00 PM) with potential after-hours responses and snow-removal duties.

Qualifications

• At least two years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance or facilities operations.
• Hands-on maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems.
• Substitution: formal apprenticeship may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and utility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair building equipment, appliances, and finishes to maintain safe operations.
• Inspect mechanical rooms, equipment, and systems to identify issues.
• Monitor BAS for comfort, energy efficiency, and equipment protection.
• Coordinate tasks with journey-level technicians and contractors.
• Log work in CMMS and document results and communications.
• Assist with snow removal, after-hours responses, and emergency calls.
• Operate university vehicles and transport tools and materials safely.
