Job summary

The City of Petoskey's Parks and Recreation Department seeks a Facilities Supervisor responsible for the upkeep of city buildings and park facilities. Under the Parks and Recreation Director, you will oversee maintenance tasks, safety, and long-term asset planning, ensuring buildings are safe, functional, and cost-effective.

• Ability to work varying schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Knowledge of construction/trades related to park facilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain City buildings and park facilities under Parks and Recreation direction.
• Ensure city buildings are safe, functional, well maintained, cost effective and planned for long-term functionality.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, lighting and other systems.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and identify maintenance, safety and capital improvement needs.
• Assist with budgeting information pertaining to areas of responsibility.
• Coordinate and manage outside contractors, vendors and service providers including obtaining quotes and monitoring work.
• Lead or assist with repairs, maintenance or improvements of City buildings and facilities.
• Maintain accurate building and facility records including equipment/tool inventories, warranties, service histories, inspections and MSDS sheets.
• Work with supervisor in daily facilities functions including ordering, organizing and distributing supplies.
• Work with other Park staff and City departments to provide park maintenance duties.
• Perform other duties as directed within the Department of Parks and Recreation.
