Job summary

Construction Association of Michigan seeks an experienced facilities manager to oversee City buildings and parks facilities under the Parks and Recreation Director. The role focuses on safety, maintenance, budgeting, and long-term planning to ensure functional, cost-effective operations.

The position requires strong leadership, customer service, and training capabilities, with oversight of seasonal staff and coordination of outside contractors.

Responsibilities

• W orks under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Director and performs all tasks as assigned as they pertain to the overall operations City buildings and parks facilities.
• Responsible for ensuring all city buildings are safe, functional, well maintained, cost effective and appropriately planned for long term functionality.
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance program for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, lighting and other systems throughout City buildings.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and identify maintenance, safety and capital improvement needs.
• Assists with budgeting information pertaining to areas of responsibility.
• Coordinate and manage outside contractors, vendors and service providers including obtaining quotes and monitoring work.
• Leading or assisting with repairs, maintenance or improvements of City buildings and facilities.
• Maintain accurate building and facility records including equipment/tool inventories, warranties, service histories, inspections and MSDS sheets.
• Work with supervisor in the daily functions of the facilities including working and maintaining the facilities, ordering, organizing and distributing supplies.
• Works with other Park staff and City departments to provide exceptional park maintenance duties.
• Performs other duties as directed within the Department of Parks and Recreation.
