Job summary

Little Rock School District is seeking an experienced Painter for Maintenance & Operations in Little Rock, Arkansas. The role performs interior and exterior painting, maintains supplies, and supports related maintenance tasks.

Immediate starting date with a 12-month contract and a pay grade 08 within the district salary range, non-exempt under FLSA. Qualifications include 6+ years in painting, safety knowledge, ability to work from ladders/scaffolds, and a valid Arkansas driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of the painting trade.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions in painting.
  • Ability to work on ladders and scaffolds.
  • Ability to match and mix paint colors.
  • Skills in use and care of painting equipment.
  • At least six (6) years of experience in painting trade.
  • Must have a valid Arkansas Driver’s License.
  • Must be willing to submit to and pass a drug test if requested.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of painting tasks on interior and exterior of buildings and other items.
  • Receive work orders from supervisor.
  • Prepare areas for refinishing, set up ladders/scaffolds and protect surrounding surfaces.
  • Mix paints, select finishes, and apply paint with brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Maintain supplies, clean equipment, and report low stock to supervisor.
