Job summary

The New Braunfels Chamber seeks a Painter to join the CISD General Maintenance Shop. The role covers painting, maintenance, and inspections of walls, doors, windows, and ADA-related components across facilities.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED preferred, a Texas driver’s license, and the ability to operate painting equipment and read English instructions. Eligible candidates will apply non-obtrusive, bio-friendly methods and follow safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred for the role.
• Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Skilled in painting techniques and tool use.
• Able to read and understand English instructions.
• Capable of basic math and reading safety procedures.
• Proficient with maintenance software and basic computer use.
• Ability to follow simple instructions and adapt to standard tasks.
• Identify paint pigments and their suitable applications.

Responsibilities

• Remove graffiti with non-obtrusive, bio-friendly materials.
• Instruct campus staff on proper paint and materials usage.
• Apply stains, paints, and epoxies with various finishes to materials.
• Update methods and materials to current technology standards.
• Layout traffic and safety markings per ordinances.
• Install drywall including taping, finishing, priming, painting.
• Dispose of paint products per regulations.
• Apply non-skid materials to improve walking surface safety.
• Operate equipment safely to prolong lifespan.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Drive district vehicles as required.
• Punctually report to work and perform other duties as assigned.
