Job summary

Comal ISD seeks a Painter for the General Maintenance Shop to maintain and renew interior/exterior walls, doors, windows, ADA devices, and related structures across district facilities. The role includes graffiti removal, advising staff on paint applications, and applying coatings with attention to detail and safety.

A high school diploma or GED and a Texas driver's license are preferred/required, with 1–3 months of related experience or training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record meeting district requirements.
• One to three months related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Remove graffiti from district property using safe, bio-friendly materials.
• Consult campus personnel on proper paint and sundries applications.
• Apply stains, paints and epoxies with suitable finishes to various materials.
• Determine methods and materials used are up-to-date with latest tech.
• Layout traffic, parking, crosswalks and playground areas per safety rules.
• Install drywall, including taping, floating, texturing, priming and painting.
• Dispose of all paint products per local, state and federal regulations.
• Apply non-slip materials to walking surfaces to enhance safety.
• Operate painting equipment safely to ensure longevity of tools.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Frequent driving of district vehicles for tasks.
• Report to work on time daily; perform other duties as assigned.
