Job summary

The Arc of Central Alabama is seeking a skilled Facilities Painter to perform interior and exterior painting across group homes, clinics, and administrative buildings. You will prep surfaces, apply finishes, repair minor damage, and assist with general maintenance while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2–5 years of painting or facilities experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of professional painting or facilities-maintenance experience preferred.
• Healthcare/residential/group homes or multi-site facilities experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a statewide/criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, patching, and priming before painting.
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
• Paint interiors and exteriors of walls, ceilings, doors, and trim.
• Repair drywall, plaster, and minor surface damage before painting.
• Mix and match paints to achieve correct color and finish.
• Assist with general maintenance tasks (light carpentry, caulking, sealing).
• Travel between multiple sites as assigned and respond to urgent repairs.
