Job summary

The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) seeks a Facilities Painter in Birmingham, AL. This full-time role performs commercial painting on diverse surfaces using brushes, rollers or spray systems and supports maintenance tasks across the facility.

Qualified candidates will have at least two years of painting experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read drawings and manuals. Safety-focused, team-oriented individuals are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience as a commercial painter.
• High School Diploma or GED; trade/technical training preferred.
• Valid Alabama driver license.
• Experience with Graco LineLazer striping machines and spray equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals and specs.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork in a high-traffic facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of commercial painting tasks with brushes, rollers or spray guns.
• Prepare surfaces including walls, equipment, and railings for painting.
• Safely erect and use scaffolding and maintain tools and equipment.
• Paint window frames and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment; follow CMMS procedures when applicable.
• Meet deadlines and work cooperatively with team members.
