The Arc of Central Alabama is seeking a Facilities Painter to maintain and enhance interiors and exteriors across multiple agency sites, including group homes and clinics. This role emphasizes safety, CARF-compliant standards, and quality finishes, with travel between sites as needed.

Strong prep, painting, and basic maintenance skills are essential. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 2–5 years of painting or facilities-maintenance experience, plus a valid driver’s license.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-5 years of professional painting or facilities-maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, residential/group homes, or multi-site facilities is a plus.
• Knowledge of painting tools, materials, and techniques.
• Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolds, and basic power tools.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must pass a statewide/criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

• Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, patching, and priming prior to painting.
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
• Perform interior and exterior painting of walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and equipment.
• Repair drywall, plaster, and minor surface damage before painting.
• Mix and match paints to achieve proper color and finish.
• Assist with general maintenance tasks (light carpentry, caulking, sealing, etc.).
• Perform touch-up painting during unit turnovers in group homes or residential settings.
• Maintain hallways, common areas, and high-traffic zones.
• Support preventive maintenance programs for facility upkeep.
• Assist with signage, striping, and specialty coatings as needed.
• Follow OSHA, infection-control, and safety protocols (especially in healthcare settings).
• Properly handle, store, and dispose of paints and hazardous materials.
• Use ladders, scaffolding, and lifts safely; maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Travel between multiple sites (group homes, clinics, offices) as assigned and respond to urgent or emergency repair needs.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and request materials as needed.
• Document completed work orders and maintenance activities.
