Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Painter to perform painting duties across campus buildings, fixtures, and equipment. The role involves surface prep, sanding, patching, priming and applying paint, while maintaining a clean, safe work area and coordinating with other painters as needed.

Daily work is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with occasional overtime during heavy workloads. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid NC driver’s license;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
• Optional Guidelines: Experience in the Trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Painting of buildings, fixtures, and equipment; determine surfaces needing prep before painting; sand, patch, prime and prepare areas.
• Maintain a safe, clean and non-disruptive work area; setup scaffolding or ladders; coordinate with other painting staff as assigned.
