Job summary

AdventHealth in North Carolina seeks a full-time painter/maintenance worker to apply paints and finishes, prepare surfaces, and assist other trades. The role requires strong safety knowledge, English communication, and the ability to document work and requisition supplies.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and is capable of following blueprints and instructions to maintain and improve facilities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of paints, chemicals and combinations available for use.
• Able to communicate in English.
• Must document records neatly and accurately.
• Ability to generate requisitions for materials and supplies.
• Ability to assign priority and teams in a timely manner.
• Ability to instruct others per blueprints and work from sketches.
• Ability to interpret instructions from various formats.
• Ability to read/safely interpret manuals and safety rules.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Knowledge of safe handling tools and equipment.
• Basic Microsoft Office computer skills.
• Must read/write/speak conversational English (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Paints, stains, and surface treatments to structures and property.
• Prepare surfaces by washing, scraping, sanding, torching, and smoothing.
• Assist other trades to complete projects.
• Maintain tools and equipment; follow safety protocols.
• Contribute to maintenance and aesthetic quality of facilities.
• Troubleshoot, test, and repair mechanical systems as needed.
• Respond to in-house work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
• May respond to emergency calls and on-call requirements.
• Keep maintenance logs and records up to date.
