Job summary

Trident Seafoods is seeking a Facilities Operator in Alaska to operate, maintain and repair machinery across edible oil, meal production, water treatment, and fuel facilities. You will monitor indicators, perform startups/shutdowns, conduct maintenance, and ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards.

The role requires 6 years of related experience, plus certifications (HAZWOPER, OSHA 10) and skills in welding, plumbing or electrical troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 6 years’ experience in Facilities Operations or similar.
• Has developed secondary skill sets such as welding, plumbing, basic electrical troubleshooting or specialized equipment repair, service and rebuild.
• HS Diploma or equivalent (or degree, etc.)
• HAZWOPER Certification (if not current, training will be provided by Trident)
• OSHA 10 Hour Certification (if not current, training will be provided by Trident)

Responsibilities

• Uses hand tools to perform basic adjustments and maintenance to equipment under the supervision of a senior operator.
• Monitors operation indicators to ensure equipment is operating properly.
• Performs startup and shutdown of equipment in assigned area as appropriate.
• Performs basic adjustments and maintenance independently as directed by a supervisor or senior operator.
• Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery.
• Collects, logs, and maintains information and data as needed to meet Trident and regulatory standards.
• Observes mechanical devices in operation to detect and locate issues.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Maintains a working knowledge of SOPs, codes and standards.
• Works with Supervisor or plant management to schedule repairs and projects.
• May supervise a smaller facility or department operation.
• Conducts tests to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provides data and reports to management as requested to update on facility operations and issues.
• Participates in audits and inspections as needed.
• Conducts audits and inspections of facility performance and activities.
• Ensures proper and timely completion of corrective actions as a result of audits and inspections.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Acquires knowledge of Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities.
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks.
• Employees working in Alaska are advised to have medical insurance coverage.
