Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating powerhouse systems and controls.
• One-year college or technical certificate; or six months to one-year related experience. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be capable of boarding and departing a vessel and performing physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of power plant equipment and indicators to detect operating problems.
• Control or maintain auxiliary equipment (pumps, fans, compressors, condensers) and supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, or power.
• Regulate equipment operations based on instrument data and monitors.
• Start or stop generators and auxiliary equipment as needed.
• Record operational data and maintain forms/logs/reports.
• Ensure regular maintenance of generators, pumps, and compressors.
• Provide regulatory reporting and monitor readings from charts.
• Respond to outages and emergencies; coordinate with personnel.
