Job summary

RealREPP, a full-service recruiting firm, is partnering with a growing building systems leader to hire a Facilities Operator in Laurel, MD. This on-site role focuses on daily chiller plant inspections, EMCS monitoring, and documentation to ensure reliable operations.

You will plan activities, supervise subcontractors, perform chemical analyses of chilled and condenser water, maintain logs, and coordinate maintenance parts. Excellent benefits and bonus DOE accompany a strong, safety-focused team.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Refrigeration Certification required
• 5+ years mechanical systems operations experience
• Experience with EMCS (Metasys or equivalent)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Leadership/supervisory ability
• Knowledge of OSHA standards
• OSHA 30 certification preferred (or obtained after hire)

Responsibilities

• Performs daily inspections of chiller plant systems and effectively documents all discrepancies.
• Plan, schedule and implement daily activities and identify and set priorities.
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the plant and equipment.
• Oversees work completed by sub-contractors on the HVAC equipment in the chiller plant and informs management of problems as they are anticipated or develop.
• Uses a variety of diagnostic and compute devices for performing and documenting work.
• Completes running logs three times a day of all chillers that are operating.
• Perform chemical analysis on chilled water and condenser water samples as required.
• Orders preventative maintenance and repair parts, as needed.
