Position Overview:

Wolfspeed is seeking a Facilities Operations Technician to join the Facilities Operations & Maintenance Team at our location in Marcy, NY – the world’s largest 200mm silicon carbide Fab. This position requires operating and maintaining systems that provide uninterrupted services and critical utilities, ensuring environmental regulation compliance and factory specifications.

Shift work (12hr shifts) required to provide 24/7 coverage for the production facility (including night shift). Attendance during adverse weather conditions is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and operate HVAC equipment, hydronic systems, compressed air, electrical distribution, and exhaust systems on the Facility Management Control System (FMCS/SCADA).
• Support installation, startup, commissioning, and sustaining operations of new equipment.
• Perform routine rounds and troubleshooting of systems.
• Provide first response and root cause analysis for system issues.
• Adhere to all safety policies and utilize control systems for monitoring.
• Complete maintenance tasks timely and work safely using PPE as required by OSHA.
• Collaborate with teammates and engineers to improve equipment reliability.
• Participate in training and mentor less experienced team members.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED; technical degree/certification or military experience preferred. Valid driver’s license required.
• 2+ years of experience in an industrial setting.
• Trade certification preferred.
• Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work with computerized building management systems.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and facility equipment.
• Ability to work independently and document work clearly.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to work in an industrial environment with HVAC units, pumps, motors, and other equipment.
• Work with machinery, moving parts, vehicles, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work in non-climate-controlled environments, perform repetitive motions, and endure physical exertion.
