Job summary

Wolfspeed in Durham, NC is seeking a Facilities Operations Technician to monitor and maintain HVAC, hydronic, wastewater, and electrical systems to ensure life safety and production. The role uses SCADA to troubleshoot alarms, start/stop equipment, and support new installations.

12-hour shifts provide 24x7 coverage for the production facility; safety training and PPE are required. This role requires attendance during adverse weather and the ability to work in a non-climate-controlled

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid US driver's license.
• 5 years of related experience in an industrial setting or equivalent with a technical degree.
• Use of computerized building management system / SCADA to maintain and troubleshoot facility equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment malfunctions on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, chillers, fire system and other facility equipment.
• Document clearly (verbal and written) and follow instructions, manuals, diagrams, and work orders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments, at heights and in confined spaces.
• Ability to work in repetitive motions and standing/walking on concrete, plus ladders.

Responsibilities

• Monitors to ensure preventive maintenance is complete and operation of HVAC and related systems.
• Use of control systems to monitor equipment, respond to alarms, and troubleshoot abnormal parameters.
• Start/stop equipment and maintain facility operation through control software; interact with SCADA and office software.
• Provide support for new equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and sustaining operations.
• Adhere to safety policies and participate in training; assist with training less experienced personnel.
