Job summary

Phalen Leadership Academies in Indianapolis is seeking a Facilities/Operations Associate to maintain clean, safe spaces and support day-to-day operations across campuses. This role blends custodial work with light maintenance and logistics, requiring reliability and attention to detail.

Ideal candidates will be comfortable wearing multiple hats, work well independently or in a team, and may bring bilingual skills (English/Spanish/Haitian Creole).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of facilities management experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical/maintenance aptitude a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Bilingual ability (English/Spanish/Haitian Creole) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, labs, restrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Conduct minor maintenance and repairs or coordinate with vendors.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning and facility supplies.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards (OSHA, health codes).
• Set up and break down rooms for classes, events, or trainings.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and distributing shipments.
• Support opening/closing procedures for the facility.
• Help coordinate logistics for events, orientations, or site visits.
• Track and report facility or equipment issues to the front office.
