Role Description

The Facilities Operations Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in New York City, responsible for supporting day-to-day facility operations and ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment. This role oversees routine building inspections, coordinates maintenance and repair activities, monitors vendor and contractor performance to meet service standards and compliance requirements. The Facilities Operations Specialist assists with scheduling and tracking preventive maintenance, updating work orders in facilities management systems, and responding to service requests in a timely manner. The role also supports reporting on facility performance, contributes to safety and sustainability initiatives, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to improve workplace experiences and operational reliability.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Facilities Operations and Facility Management (FM) skills, including familiarity with building systems and services.
• Candidates should possess Maintenance Management and Maintenance & Repair skills to oversee preventive and corrective work effectively.
• Candidates should possess Supervisory Skills to guide frontline teams, coordinate vendors, and support safe work practices.
• Relevant qualifications include experience in corporate or commercial facilities, knowledge of safety and compliance standards, and proficiency with CMMS or similar maintenance software.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include strong communication and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement; industry certifications (e.g., IFMA, BOMA, or maintenance-related credentials) are a plus.
