Job summary

Collin County seeks an Assistant Director of Facilities to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and coordinate Property Improvement Projects. The role supports the Director and ensures adherence to codes and safety standards across county facilities.

The position involves budget participation, vendor liaison, and development of maintenance programs. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 6+ years in facilities and 2+ years supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or six+ years in facilities maintenance with supervisory experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety/regulatory codes.
• Ability to read graphs, budgets, blueprints, and technical materials.
• Ability to write reports, specifications, cost analyses, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and support maintenance and facilities staff.
• Assist the Director with daily operations and coordinate Property Improvement Projects.
• Assist with department budget and communicate with vendors and contractors.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and scheduling for facilities.
• Ensure compliance with codes and regulations; develop policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Auditors, HR, and Budget departments; attend budget meetings.
• Monitor contractors and vendors to minimize disruptions and ensure quality.
