DIXON-SMITH MIDDLE in Fredericksburg, VA, is hiring a General Maintenance Worker for Building Operations. The role supports furniture moves, surplus property handling, and custodial supply distribution across multiple facilities, reporting to the Building Operations Coordinator.

A valid driver’s license and related experience are preferred. Responsibilities include coordinating moves, maintaining delivery logs, and assisting with floor work and events.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of facilities operations experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with moving services and surplus property management.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain on hire.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Execute division-wide moving services and relocate furniture safely.
• Deliver custodial supplies and equipment to school campuses on schedule.
• Support division-wide events and surplus program activities.
• Coordinate furniture moves, tagging, inventory, and transport of surplus items.
• Provide on-site coordination and lead-level direction to staff and contractors during moves and deliveries.
• Operate department vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, inventory, and inspection findings.
