Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona seeks an experienced facilities operations leader to oversee campus Trades Shops, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, maintenance, paint, and lock. You will direct shop supervisors, schedule work orders, and manage preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure safe, reliable building operations.

You will plan major maintenance shutdowns, coordinate with contractors, monitor performance, and manage budgets and compliance across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience in facilities operations.
• Minimum five years in facilities operations within complex environments.
• Direct supervisory/management experience overseeing multiple skilled trades.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for campus trades shops including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, maintenance, paint, and lock.
• Plan, prioritize, and coordinate daily operations, work orders, and staffing to ensure safety and reliability.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance programs for major systems.
• Manage budgets, procurement, and vendor performance for facilities projects.
• Coordinate multi-trade projects with internal teams and external vendors.
• Ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, and university policies.
