Job summary

The Big Wave Project in Half Moon Bay is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee daily operations, maintenance, safety, and long-term planning for the Big Wave Center and surrounding grounds. You will manage building systems, coordinate vendors and staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver a high-quality experience for commercial tenants and residential occupants.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years experience as facilities manager or relevant.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, technical/engineering operations, and facilities management best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, as-builts, and maintenance documents.
• Familiarity with OSHA, ADA, and local building codes.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic mixed-use environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily building operations and the grounds surrounding the Big Wave Center including custodial, engineering, life-safety, landscaping and general maintenance.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, elevators, fire protection systems, and landscaping.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and coordinate timely repairs with contractors and staff.
• Track work orders, asset lifecycle, and maintenance history.
• Provide on-call, after-hours support for security alarms, fire protection alarms, and system failures.
• Respond promptly to resident and tenant service requests, ensuring issues are resolved.
• Maintain communication with commercial tenants and residential occupants regarding policies and disruptions.
• Review vendor performance and negotiate cost-effective contracts with service providers.
