Job summary

Vi Living in Palo Alto is seeking an Assistant Director of Engineering to oversee maintenance operations and staff, ensuring safe and comfortable living spaces for residents and guests. The role requires strong supervisory skills and extensive knowledge of building systems.

The candidate will manage contractor relations, bidding documents, and budget adherence while reporting to the Director in their absence. A minimum of 7 years in maintenance with leadership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years progressive experience in building maintenance or equivalent.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in a maintenance department.
• Experience working with contractors, bid documents, insurance requirements, contracts, invoicing and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the maintenance staff and assist in maintaining the building systems to ensure resident safety and comfort.
• Operate the department in the Director's absence.
• Coordinate work with contractors, prepare bid documents, and monitor budgets and compliance.
