Job summary

The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is seeking a Facility Supervisor 3 for the Nevada Youth Training Center in Elko, NV. The role leads maintenance teams, coordinates skilled trades, and oversees budgets and safety compliance within a 64-bed juvenile facility.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience in building and facilities maintenance, strong supervisory skills, and the ability to coordinate contractors and internal staff to maintain safe and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and five years in building/facilities maintenance or construction with project planning, cost estimates and budgets, scheduling and project management.
• Two years of supervising skilled trades or one year as Facility Supervisor II in Nevada State service; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance repair specialists and custodial staff; direct building and grounds maintenance.
• Supervise and evaluate staff; assign and review work; coordinate carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler repairs.
• Manage contracted maintenance; identify future facility needs; prepare maintenance budgets; ensure codes and safety regulations compliance.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; five years of building and facilities maintenance or construction experience with project planning, cost estimates and budgets, scheduling and project management.
