Job summary

Texas A&M University Space Institute in Houston seeks an Operations Manager to lead facility operations, maintenance, and infrastructure for a multi-tenant space. You will ensure safety, security, and functional readiness while supporting tenants and high-quality operations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least five years of experience in facility operations or project coordination, with a focus on building systems, safety standards, and vendor management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Five years of related experience in facility operations, maintenance, or project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversees preventative, corrective, and planned maintenance including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, custodial, and grounds operations.
• Oversees day-to-day facility operations to ensure safety, security, functionality, and regulatory compliance.
• Serves as primary point of contact for facility-related issues and service requests.
• Coordinates and manages vendor services, contractors, and maintenance providers.
• Oversees building access control, key management, and tenant onboarding; reviews access permissions.
• Leads safety, emergency preparedness, and business continuity efforts; conducts training and drills.
• Coordinates with internal and external partners to support facility operations.
• Monitors facility performance and identifies opportunities for improvements.
