Job summary

Stewart & Stevenson is seeking a Manufacturing Facilities Specialist in Houston to support day-to-day facilities operations, vendor management, and CAPEX project oversight. You will coordinate service requests, vendor selection, and preventive maintenance programs while ensuring compliance and cost control.

The role requires independent judgment in vendor selection, scope evaluation, and risk assessment, with close collaboration across operations, supply chain, finance, and site leadership.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of experience supporting facilities operations and coordination.
• Organize service requests, quotes, invoices, inspection records, work orders, and facility documentation with accuracy.
• Working knowledge of CMMS systems and preventive maintenance schedules; willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and follow-up with internal teams, vendors, and site leadership.
• Experience managing preventive maintenance programs and facility projects, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Strong analytical, financial, and reporting skills to evaluate data, lifecycle costs, and risk.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate facility service needs and manage vendors within delegated authority.
• Source and compare scopes, quotes, pricing, service levels, and vendor capabilities; manage onsite work.
• Establish vendor performance expectations and monitor quality, cost, safety, and compliance.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs and facility projects.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans; coordinate labor, parts, and shutdowns.
• Evaluate CAPEX needs, develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments; manage projects through closeout.
• Oversee CMMS data governance and work order controls.
• Maintain facility files, invoices, safety documentation, and related records.
