Job summary

Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site in Philadelphia is seeking a full-time Custodian to keep all areas neat, safe, and visitor-friendly, including restrooms, offices, and exhibits, as part of the Facilities & Preservation team.

Duties include removing trash, cleaning bathrooms and offices, cleaning exhibits, pulling weeds in public areas, assisting with landscape maintenance, snow removal, lightbulb changes, and completing FMX tickets promptly.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior custodial or maintenance experience a plus.
• Must have or obtain OSHA 10 certification upon starting.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure floors are clear of debris and trash.
• Empty trash throughout the facility multiple times per shift.
• Clean bathrooms, offices, and exhibits.
• Assist with landscape maintenance, snow removal, and lightbulb changes.
• Complete FMX tickets in a timely fashion.
