Job summary

SELF, Inc. is seeking a Custodial Engineer to safeguard and maintain multiple facilities in the Philadelphia area.

The role combines janitorial tasks with basic environmental oversight, supply management, and collaboration with the Facilities Manager to support organizational transformation goals. You will perform daily rounds, clean and maintain spaces, operate cleaning equipment, manage inventory, and help ensure safety across buildings, vehicles, and tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years’ janitorial/maintenance experience.
• Experience across multiple facilities/properties.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Criminal background check required.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily rounds and upkeep of all facilities and report findings.
• Clean buildings and equipment using proper methods.
• Maintain safe environment; inspect detectors and exit signs; report findings.
• Clean inside/outside areas and manage grounds.
• Operate janitorial equipment and perform simple repairs.
• Maintain inventory of furniture, equipment, supplies.
• Attend meetings and trainings as directed.
• Perform related work as required.
