Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Starlink Production facility. You will design, troubleshoot, and improve HVAC, plumbing, and building systems to support safe, efficient operations.

You will lead maintenance planning, coordinate with maintenance, construction, and production teams, and oversee installation of new lines and processes to ensure high performance in a world‑class facility serving the space program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 3+ years of design and maintenance of industrial HVAC/plumbing systems
• Experience with clean-room design and environmental control requirements
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, NFPA, and IBC standards
• Ability to lead maintenance and project activities with minimal disruptions

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for design, operation, improvement, and troubleshooting of facility HVAC, plumbing, and building systems
• Coordinate downtime activities between maintenance, construction, and production teams to minimize disruptions
• Drive mechanical system improvement projects using design change requests and advanced detection methods
• Troubleshoot mechanical system problems, formulate maintenance protocols, service schedules, and coordinate material procurement
• Oversee equipment installation, operation, and maintenance to meet specified parameters
