Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Facilities for the Starlink Production site in Bastrop, Texas. The role focuses on ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency of HVAC, plumbing, and building systems, with responsibilities from troubleshooting to upgrading assembly lines.

You will coordinate with maintenance, construction, and production teams, drive upgrades, and manage contracts while upholding rigorous safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in design and maintenance of industrial HVAC/plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for design, operation, and improvement of facility mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, building structures).
• Coordinate downtime activities between maintenance, construction, and production teams.
• Drive mechanical system improvement projects using design change requests and detection methods.
• Troubleshoot mechanical system problems; develop maintenance protocols and schedules.
• Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design, optimize, and maintain systems.
• Support facility technicians in troubleshooting electrical equipment and controllers.
• Oversee equipment installation, operation, and maintenance to meet specs.
