Job summary

TSMC Arizona is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer for our 5-nanometer fab in Phoenix. You will design, build and operate cleanrooms, chilled water systems and utilities to ensure ultra-clean production and reliable operations.

You will focus on energy efficiency, green manufacturing, and cost-effective facilities management, including vibration, heat transfer, and safety compliance. This role requires shift work, OT, and on-site collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field; MS/PhD preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of heat transfer and thermal management.
• HVAC, plumbing and building codes knowledge required.
• Experience with mechanical systems in semiconductor manufacturing preferred.
• Shift work and emergency overtime required.
• Experience with AutoCAD is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate a cleanroom with environmental controls for ultra-clean production.
• Design, build and operate chilled water systems and related equipment.
• Manage exhaust, scrubber and air handling systems and local process air abatement.
• Coordinate with design or project management on large-scale designs.
• Conduct construction administration and site observations.
• Run daily system operation and data analysis.
• Monitor utilities distribution including power, steam, gas and water.
• Provide routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Participate in Emergency Response Team duties as needed.
