Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking a Facilities Project Engineer for an aerospace company in Hampton, VA. The role supports plant operations, capital projects, and facility infrastructure, driving improvements and safe, reliable performance.

Responsibilities include leading projects from planning to execution, designing equipment upgrades, developing scopes and budgets, and coordinating with suppliers and contractors to meet contractual requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • 3+ years of mechanical project engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience managing capital equipment or facility improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Specify, design, and implement new manufacturing equipment and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical specifications.
  • Partner with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver projects.
  • Test and commission newly installed equipment to meet performance and contractual requirements.
  • Provide engineering support and troubleshooting for maintenance and production teams.
  • Generate contractor scopes of work, cost estimates, and project documentation.

Job description

An Aerospace company in Hampton, VA is looking to bring on a Facilities Project Engineer to play a critical role in supporting plant operations, capital projects, facility infrastructure, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a highly visible position where you'll help shape manufacturing operation by implementing new equipment, improving existing systems, and ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable facility performance.

What This Role Brings:

  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment, automation, and facility infrastructure systems

What You'll Do:
  • Lead capital and facility improvement projects from planning through execution.
  • Specify, design, and implement new manufacturing equipment and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical specifications.
  • Partner with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver successful projects.
  • Test and commission newly installed equipment to ensure performance and contractual requirements are met.
  • Provide engineering support and troubleshooting assistance for maintenance and production teams.
  • Generate contractor scopes of work, cost estimates, and project documentation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of mechanical project engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Experience managing capital equipment or facility improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred:
  • AutoCAD and/or Inventor proficiency.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with facility infrastructure systems and utilities.
  • Experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Investment casting experience is highly desirable.
