Job summary

Meiji America Inc. is seeking a Facilities Mechanic to perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and preventive maintenance across our PA facility. The role requires maintaining safe work areas, complying with GMP, and collaborating with team members to complete work orders efficiently.

Essential qualifications include 3–5 years of relevant experience, NFPA 70 arc-flash certification, Lockout/Tagout, and PIT certification. Strong tool proficiency and safety mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must have 3-5 years experience in the above listed essential functions.
• Must be trained and certified in NFPA 70 for arc flash.
• Must have Lockout/Tagout certification.
• Must have PIT (forklift, scissor lift, and articulating boom lift) certification.
• Must be proficient in the use of hand tools, portable powered tools, and powered shop equipment.
• Must maintain a clean and safe work area at all times, utilize safe work practices, comply with GMP requirements, policies and procedures.
• Must work well with others, foster a team atmosphere, and be able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry fabrications and repairs such as constructing crates and skids for shipping or storage of equipment.
• Perform PVC, iron pipe, and copper pipe plumbing repairs and installations. Snake drains and open clogged and obstructed lines.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on facility items including generators, air compressors, air dryers, fire pump, eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, boilers, sinks, and restrooms.
• Perform building repairs, fabrications, and installations including drywall and masonry, painting, lighting, and pedestrian doors.
• Perform electrical and wiring troubleshooting repairs and installations.
• Perform HVAC maintenance and filter replacements.
• Perform daily checks of the facility doors to ensure plant security.
• Maintain the facility exterior and grounds in a manner that eliminates clutter, safety hazards, and pest harborage areas. Ensure roof drains are clear and unobstructed.
• Perform Work Orders in a timely manner and document all work in the CMMS.
