Job summary

Hilmar Cheese Company in Dalhart, Texas, seeks a Facilities Mechanic to safely operate and maintain plant equipment including ammonia refrigeration, boilers, water systems, and HVACs. You will help sustain food safety practices while performing preventative maintenance and basic fabrication tasks.

The role requires at least 1 year in industrial maintenance, ability to work weekends/shifts, and willingness to obtain necessary licenses.

Qualifications

• 1-year industrial maintenance experience.
• Ammonia Refrigeration Systems experience – RETA CARO/CIRO cert possible within 18 months.
• Pass Pulmonary Function Test and respirator fit test.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate Facilities Equipment.
• Analyze chemical treatment and corrections daily.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facilities equipment.
• Basic fabrication skills including welding and shop tools.
• Create and close Work Orders in CMMS and review equipment history.
• Participate in Ammonia Emergency Response Team and Hazmat Team.
• Communicate effectively and work in teams.
• Read and understand P&ID’s and follow OSHA respirator guidelines.
