Job summary

Hilmar Cheese Company is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the effective execution of maintenance and projects within the plants. The role emphasizes safety, cost efficiency, and high-quality production.

You will lead a skilled team, plan preventive/predictive maintenance, use SAP for work orders and inventory, and collaborate closely with Operations to promote excellence in customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 4 years related experience, OR Associate’s degree with 3 years related experience, OR Bachelor's plus 1 year related experience.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts (days/swings/graveyard).
• Experience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate development of a skilled, engaged maintenance team to support plant operations.
• Develop and maintain a safe and effective working environment.
• Ensure all jobs are done economically, efficiently and safely.
• Conduct daily safety topics and weekly equipment/process meetings.
• Review planned job packages for completeness and correctness.
• Refine and finalize labor, parts, and priorities for tasks.
• Plan/schedule preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Assign mechanics to tasks promptly at shift start and throughout the day.
• Make tactical decisions to stay close to schedule.
• Provide reports on downtime to promote proactive responses.
• Maintain storeroom, shop and CMMS.
