Mountain Empire Community College in Wise, Virginia is seeking a Mechanical Trades Technician II to support installation and maintenance of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems across campus.

The role requires basic maintenance skills, reading blueprints, and following safety codes; on-call duty around the clock; occasional night and weekend work may be required. This is a full-time, on-site position with a 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. schedule and a hiring range of $31,579–$34,000.

Qualificações

• Basic experience or training in facility maintenance or related trades.
• Mechanical aptitude with basic tools for light repairs and routine tasks.
• Experience performing basic preventive maintenance checks or routine equipment inspections.
• Ability to learn computerized maintenance systems (e.g., Building Automation Systems).
• Reliable, strong work ethic; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsabilidades

• Support electricians in installation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Read sketches/blueprints to determine wiring locations and ensure building codes are followed.
• Place conduit, pipes, or tubing and pull wires to complete circuits.
• Install, test, and maintain electrical components and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and plumbing systems campus-wide.
