West Virginia University is seeking a Trade Maintenance Mechanic II to join the Department of Facilities Management in Morgantown. You will perform carpentry, maintenance, and minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks under supervision, ensuring safe, efficient operation of university facilities.

The role supports campus maintenance programs, with a 37.5-hour week, holidays, and generous benefits. Candidates should have relevant education/experience and be able to work varied shifts, including

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Two years' experience in general trades building maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or related).
• Associate degree in building maintenance or a related craft trade.
• Completion of a 2-year accredited vocational craft trades program.
• Any equivalent education/experience will be considered.
• All qualifications must be met by employment.

Responsabilités

• Perform carpentry-related maintenance: fabricate/repair furniture, install/repair floors, ceilings, window coverings, doors, trim, locks, and windows.
• Install/repair drywall, insulation, trim, moldings.
• Fabricate/install/maintain walls, ramps, scaffolding, shelters, stages, handrails, and wheelchair ramps.
• Perform minor painting related to carpentry tasks.
• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on electrical systems (switches, outlets, lighting, dimming).
• Troubleshoot and maintain plumbing systems (faucets, drains, traps, valves, toilets).
• Maintain and repair mechanical equipment and HVAC components; calibrate temperature controls; belts and minor repairs.
• Move materials, requisition parts, operate state vehicle, and manage tools/equipment.
